Which lens do you choose for which occasion and location? Starting out with my Nikon D3200, I did not know much about lenses and how much more important they are than the camera body! Get your kid addicted to photography and they will never have a drug problem! "Glass" is what photographers refer to when talking about lenses. Lenses are THE most important part of the camera and your photography business. If you can't own the one you want, then look into rental. We have Rockbrook Camera here in Omaha, NE and they will help you find the right lens for whatever model camera you have.
Glass can make or break you during a shoot. If you do not have the right lens for an event, your competitor does. Why do photographers charge so much? Because its costs money to give you the best quality photograph.
I am a fan of the Pretty Presets blog and found a resource I would love to share with you! Sign up for their blog, worth the read every time! Oh and check out their presets for lightroom! I own their Bohemian Collection and it's amazing.
How to Choose a Lens
They are carved out of pink Himalayan salt and believed to have various health benefits. In fact, advocates of salt lamps claim they can clean the air in your home, soothe allergies, boost your mood and help you sleep. I have walked into many homes that have these, and they have intrigued me for years! How beautiful they glow, and the soft light they give off in the evening time. What a simple and delightful gift idea also. I am always searching for gift ideas for people that I do not know well, and this would definitely work. I will let you know how soothed I am after using. Anyone care to review, please do so in the comments!

We are programmed to plan our future and plan our day out. We have been taught this mechanism since we were children, so we essentially do not know or understand any other way to be. We believe deeply that if we plan our day and our life that in turn we will have a life we have always dreamed of.
Have you ever been stuck in traffic and just found yourself completely furious about it? Have you fallen into a complete depression because you try day in and day out to get pregnant? Have you ever wondered why you get so upset over life obstacles? It is because you are programmed to think if you leave the house on time to get to work, there should be no reason why you would be late. You plan to take the medications and have scheduled sex to get pregnant, and it should happen!
I see this in my own life and it was when I took an interest in Buddhism and to Buddhist writer and teacher, Pema Chodron, that I heard, for the first time, that attachment leads to suffering. I have been intrigued about different religions for years as I find it fascinating that so many people believe in different paths so profoundly. I also have found that having faith of any kind helps when coping with the journey of life. After reading and understanding the message of the Buddha, everything clicked! I realized that if we have less attachment over our life plan, we have less upset. We allow the universe to do what it would naturally do.
This is by no means a message about pausing your life plans, and to ditch your daily routine. Routine can be super beneficial! The message is about learning to not find yourself so upset when the plan doesn't go as you envisioned it. The message is about learning to be grateful and humble even when life seems to deal you the hand you didn't anticipate to have. It is hard to change how our minds have been programmed, but we can start recognizing our feelings when our life plan or even our daily plan does not go as we planned out. When that car ahead of you does not drive as fast as you would like, instead of getting so angry about it, just move forward (maybe they drive slow because they have anxiety like me!). We clearly cannot control everything around us, and we get so angry and upset because the plan in our minds is not flowing in the direction we wanted.
We have to believe that the universe has a natural plan. We will find more peace within ourselves if we learned to let go of our attachment to the plan and allow detours.

When I first seen a movie called, The Secret, I was sceptical but very curious; then extremely intrigued with the ideas and testimonials presented in the film. Law of Attraction sounds interesting and scientific. The idea behind this law is to speak positively, and positive things will happen to you. Well that sounds just too easy!
My husband and I started trying this theory out. We were saying out loud, "We need money"...and after practice we changed our words to, "we will have money come to us from an unexpected source" and it was a few days later we got a check in the mail for an overpayment from our insurance company. We laughed at first, then became very absorbed in this process.
We began to understand cause and effect, and how our words have consequences. I could now recognize how the words leave our lips and turn into something more than just sound, but energy. How long had we been saying negative words? Years and years probably. We found it hard to change our way of speaking, and we still do not have the process down 100% yet, it takes practice.
The point of the Law of Attraction is that whatever you say out loud, can actually manifest itself into a physical action. The words come out of your mouth and the energy is sent out into the universe. It is easy to compare to the act of praying or even meditating. With prayer, most people attribute prayer to being religious. Closing your eyes, visualizing your needs, and telling the universe (or your god) what it is you desire or want. We have been doing it most of our lives, but I believe we are just doing it wrong. We counter so much positive with negative. We sit with our heads down and cry that "my life sucks" and "we are always broke, we will never catch up." You know what I am talking about because we do it all the time. But do you see what is happening?
What do you do with this information? Start finding mantras that you can say daily! Create a vision board using Pinterest or create a physical board using a canvas! Remember it does not always have to be about materials things, you can find happiness inside without having "things" to make you happy. (That is a whole other conversation!) Say it out loud what you WILL have, say it like you already have it! Listen to what you say everyday, and see what happens. Stop yourself from saying anything negative, it's not easy! But in time, you will start seeing changes, I can promise you this! Positive attracts more positive.

Welcome to my new site and blog! What I am attempting here is to not only share my artistic works, but to also share my life and thoughts. I have always wanted to blog, and have always loved art. So in an effort to do both, I have created The Creative Elephant.
I chose "Creative Elephant" because its who I am. I have been an elephant lover for years, and in trying to incorporate who I am with a blog name was so hard! I brainstormed ideas for many years honestly, and created Creative Elephant page on Facebook back in January 2016 when I first became sober. I wanted to do something that not only showcases my photography and love for graphic designs, but also allows me to help others with their creative desires or needs. I wanted to incorporate a blog that offers help and inspiration.
In a time where not many people receive praise and love, I wanted to be someone who could offer just that. Love. I wanted to reach people on a deeper level and give them comfort in knowing that they are not alone in this world. I want to nurture future artists. I hope my messages will be heard to those who need it, and perhaps someday I will have created a lasting impression that lives on for eternity.
